Man linked to Gifford to shooting rampage called “very disturbed”

I thought the article about the Arizona shootings and the student that was said to be behind the shootings. The article talked about the acts of Jared Lee Loughner and the history of his University career. The article speaks about the years leading up to December 2010, as well the comments of teachers and students who saw him and had class with him everyday. "He was a guy in high school who definitely had his opinions on stuff and didn't seem to care what people thought of him," Wiens said. "He did his own thing." This quote makes me think of normal students who just seem to be doing their own thing, and teach themselves along the way. The article also talks about the type of interests Jared had for literature, reading, and grammar. It speaks about his interest in the books of “Mein Kempf” “The Communist Manifesto”, and also sets up a youtube account, and sets movies up that showed and expressed his feelings upon the internet where everyone could see and hear his voice and his ideas. What I found to be an interesting quote was "I was in shock," he said, describing his reaction to the shooting. "I didn't know what possessed someone our age to do something like this." This quote seems to be very interesting because the press seems to not be able to tell or communicate the reasons for his actions. This terrible event was something that seemed to be caused by another man who was very sick, and mentally unstable.
